010. | theBalm Nude Dude Eyeshadow Palette

The Nude Dude Eyeshadow Palette is a recent launch from theBalm Cosmetics. The palette is a follow-up to an earlier launch from the company, the Nude 'Tude Eyeshadow Palette. Nude Dude is slightly more warm-toned than Nude 'Tude, but neither palette is overwhelmingly warm or cool. For me, these palettes complement each other perfectly, and using them together creates a better look than using either individually. Keep reading for photos and swatches of Nude Dude!

First, the packaging of this palette is adorable. All of theBalm's packaging has gorgeous vintage pin-up vibes, which appeals perfectly to my style. Each shadow is placed in the palette to strategically cover an undressed, muscular man. Gorgeous men and makeup, what more could you want? The palette itself is a sturdy cardboard with a magnetic closure, and is about ten inches long. A small brush is included in the set, but it is not great and doesn't work well to pack on shadow or blend. You'll need to use different brushes to get a polished look.

Each shadow is finely milled, and applies and blends beautifully. theBalm is a lesser known brand in the makeup community, but I am continually impressed by the quality of its products. These shadows are definitely on par with MAC and Urban Decay. As I said before, the palette leans more warm than cool, but has a range of shades to suit most skin tones. The palette includes four matte and eight shimmer shades.

Fearless is a matte beige. It is the least pigmented shade in the palette, but having said that, still has enough color payoff to work as a highlight or complement shade.
Flawless is a matte cool brown. This is the blending/transition shade of the palette. Although it leans slightly more cool, it is adequately neutral in tone to work with all shades in the palette.
Firm is a shimmery cool brown. It is basically the non-matte version of Flawless.
Flirty is a shimmery soft magenta. It is the most unique shade in the palette, and one of the more unique eyeshadows I own.

Fabulous is an ivory with gold shimmer. This is one of the most pigmented shades in the palette.
Faithful is a shimmery soft copper. This shade is also extremely pigmented.
Fit is a shimmery warm brown. This color rounds out the top three most pigmented shadows.
Feisty is a matte mauve with taupe undertones. This is a second blending/transition shade, but doesn't work perfectly with all of the colors because of its pink undertones.

Friendly is a matte chestnut brown. It looks almost black in the palette, but swatches as a rich brown.
Fierce is a soft black with teal shimmer. This is another extremely unique shade.
Funny is shimmery reddish brown. This shade is not as pigmented as I had hoped it would be.
Fine is dark brown with subtle shimmer. This shadow also doesn't have the best color payoff.

While a few of the shades weren't as pigmented as I would have liked them to be, I think the palette overall is worth picking up. I like that it has a mix of warm and cool shades, which can easily work with other shadows you may already have. If you have Nude 'Tude, I still recommend checking Nude Dude out. The colors are very different, and they work well together. The Nude Dude Eyeshadow Palette retails for $36. Click here to purchase.
